Database of the Bibliography of the Jewish People

A database of the bibliography of the Jewish people: a detailed description of the literature printed in the Hebrew alphabet. The Hebrew bibliography includes most of the books printed in Hebrew, Ladino, Yiddish, Judeo-Arabic and other Judeo languages found in Israel and worldwide, printed since the establishment of the Hebrew print (around the year 1460) till 1960. The bibliography includes a short biography for authors, translators, editors involved in the Hebrew literary creation.

Index of Hebrew Per​iodicals (IHP)

The Index to Hebrew Periodicals is a multi-disciplinary bibliographic indexing project covering articles from Hebrew periodicals, collections, and monographs. 

JSTOR

A multidisciplinary database with full text that covers a wide range of topics and provides access to thousands of academic journals in various fields.

Please note: a large number of journals are indexed from the first issue with coverage up to 5 years back from the current date.

Rambi

Index of Articles on Jewish Studies. A selective bibliography of articles in the various fields of Jewish studies and in the study of Eretz Israel and the State of Israel. The Index is based to a large extent on the collections of the National Library of Israel.

 An online literature database that contains full-text articles from scholarly journals and literary magazines combined with critical essays, work and topic overviews, full-text works, biographies, and more providing information on authors, their works, and literary movements. 

Essay and General Literature Index (EBSCO)

A reference database that cites records contained in collections of essays and miscellaneous works published in the United States, Great Britain and Canada. Coverage spans the entire range of the humanities and social sciences.

MUSE is an online source of complete, full-text versions of scholarly journals from many of the world's leading university presses and scholarly societies, with over 120 publishers.

 

Primary Sources

Hebrew Literature Archive

 The archives of some of the most important writers in the Jewish and Israeli literature and culture, such as Amos Oz, Aharon Appelfeld, Ruth Almog, David Avidan and more. The archives contain the works that formed the image of the "New Israeli" together with rich and various documenting of the creation process of these works and the extensive research that followed. In the archives, there are all the publications of the different books in all the languages they were translated to; researches and articles discussing the writers and the different works; reportage and interviews on the press, television and radio in different languages; photos and movies; correspondence and more.

Beit Ari ​ela

Index of the daily newsp​apers in Hebrew from 1993 and onwards. The indexing is made from the following newspapers: "Yedioth Ahronoth", "Haaretz", "Ma'ariv", "Yated Ne'eman", "HaTzofe" and "Ha'ir" (Only until 2008). There is also an index of old newspapers: "Al Hamishmar", "Davar" and "Hadashot".

Early Hebrew Newspapers (National Library)

An early Hebrew newspaper database of the Jewish National and University Library. The database includes 6 main newspapers: " Halevanon", "Hamegid", "Havaselet", "hazefirah", "Hameliz" and "Hazevi\Haor\Hashkafa". Each newspaper has indexes by common era date, Jewish calendar date and volume/issue numbers.

C​ompact Memory​

The portal comprises Jewish newspapers and journals of the German speaking area of the years 1768–1938 and beyond. These periodicals represent the complete religious, political, social, literary and academic spectrum of the Jewish community, thus constituting a major source for the research on Judaism in the Modern Age.
