פרופ' אמריטוס ביאטריס פריאל ז"ל (1940-2016) עלתה לארץ מארגנטינה בהיותה בת 20, ולמדה לתארים ראשון ושני באוניברסיטת בר-אילן. את לימודי הדוקטורט השלימה בסורבון בפריז. ביאטריס הצטרפה למחלקה למדעי ההתנהגות באוניברסיטת בן-גוריון בנגב בסוף שנות ה-70. היא הייתה פסיכולוגית קלינית מומחית ופירסמה מאמרים רבים בתחום הפסיכולוגיה הקלינית, תוך התמקדות בפגיעות לדיכאון, התקשרות, ויכולת התבוננות-עצמית. היא עסקה גם במחקר אינטר-דיסציפלינרי בתחומי פסיכואנליזה וספרות, אמנות חזותית וקולנוע. במקביל לפעילותה המחקרית היא הייתה דמות בכירה בשדה הקליני ובפרט בתחום הפסיכואנליזה בארץ. היא הייתה ממייסדות מכון תל אביב לפסיכואנליזה בת זמננו, ושימשה כעמיתה, מורה ומדריכה מוערכת לחברי המכון. כמו כן במשך שנים רבות שימשה כראש ביה"ס לפסיכותרפיה באוניברסיטת בן-גוריון. היא הותירה אחריה בעל, ילדים, ונכדים. יהי זכרה ברוך.
Prof. Emeritus Beatrice Priel (1940-2016) immigrated to Israel from Argentina when she was 20 years old, and completed her BA and MA at Bar-Ilan University. She later completed her PhD studies at the Sorbonne in Paris. Beatrice joined the department of behavioral sciences during the late 70's. She was a certified clinical psychologist and she published many scientific papers in the field of clinical psychology, focusing specifically on vulnerability to depression, attachment and self-reflectivity. She also conducted interdisciplinary research including psychoanalysis and literature, the visual arts and cinema. Alongside her research activities she was a prominent figure in the clinical field and especially in the field of psychoanalysis in Israel. She partook in the establishment of the Tel-Aviv Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis, where she was a respected colleague, teacher and mentor. Additionally, for many years she was the Director of the School for Psychotherapy at Ben-Gurion University. She left behind a husband, children, and grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
