The Data Science Community (DiSCo) in BGU, together with The Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, is back with another great lecture from Nofar Betzalel, a data scientist in one of the leading companies in the industry, PayPal.

DiSCo is a BGU community of data enthusiasts that gather to learn, explore and practice data science.

PayPal is a rapidly growing company which enables safe payments processing worldwide. With over $16k payments processed by PayPal each second, Data Science has a very important role in fraud detection to make sure we enable legitimate consumers and businesses around the world to use PayPal easily and safely while protecting them from fraudsters’ techniques – sophisticated as they might be.

In this session, we’ll talk about how Data Science methodologies are being used to fight fraud at PayPal while giving examples of projects that are managed from our Israeli PayPal site.
