Recent advances in AI and related fields are bringing us closer to the creation of service robots that can assist in household chores.

Such assistance is much needed given the large increase in the aging population in the western world and the difficulty of providing quality care for all.

This seminar is will highlighting some of work carried out in Israel on the use of AI-based methods for autonomous service robots.

The seminar will focus on three topics: Greater Autonomy for Robotics, NLP for robotics and grounded language understanding, and Human-Robot interaction.

We will also have invited speakers from industry and a representative from the ministry of science and technology.

Confirmed Speakers:

AI and Robotics: Ronen Brafman (BGU), Erez Karpas (Technion), Gal Kaminka (BIU)

Natural Language Processing; Jonathan Berant (TAU), Michael Elhadad (BGU)

Human Robot Interaction: Avi Parush (Technion),  Oren Zuckerman (IDC)
