Faculty Accomplishments in Brief for 2010-2011

In research:

  • No.1 in University Grants, about 26 million dollars, 31%. 
  • The Faculty also led (24%) in grants from the most competitive sources:

    • the Israel National Science Foundation,
    • the Israel-U.S. Bi-National Science Foundation, and
    • the Germany-Israel Science Foundation
    • EU granting sources
  • 840 research papers
  • About 320 invited talks

In teaching (2010-2011)

  • Last year 43 students were granted Ph.D. degrees, comprising 30% of all doctorates at the University.
  • Masters degrees were granted to 74 students in the Faculty.
  • 417 B.Sc. were granted last year.
  • Organization of some 75 conferences and workshops.
  • More than 120 visiting scientists.
  • 70 post-doctoral students.
  • Academic staff members won awards or received significant professional recognition.
  • The Faculty recruited 9 new members.
  • 41 new-immigrant scientists were employed in the Faculty with funding from the Ministries of Immigrant Absorption and Science. They were granted over 3.6 Million Dollars, 1st in the University (41%).
  • 27 weekly seminars were held in the various Faculty departments on a continuing basis.
