Kreitman Post-doctroal Scholarships-Submission May 26, 2013

Kreitman School for Advanced Graduate Studies

Hereby announces the enrollment for

Kreitman Post-Doctoral Scholarships for the academic year 2013-2014 

The program is open for candidates that have completed their PhD studies within the past five years and are interested in performing research at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

Candidates must first find a host advisor

The scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis 
 

The scholarship will provide an annual sum of 80,215 NIS that will be covered in equal shares by the Kreitman School and the advisor.

The scholarship may be extended for a second year, pending submission of an advancement report approved by the advisor to the Kreitman School and pending approval for the second year by the Kreitman School.


Applications will be received from candidates that have completed their PhD studies within the past five years, or that are currently in their final year of their PhD studies. In such cases, the scholarship will be activated pending submission of their PhD thesis and completion of all other academic requirements towards receiving the PhD degree
 

The applications will be submitted to the department by e-mail. Candidates will be submitted to the Kreitman School by their host faculty

The deadline for submission to the host department is

May 26, 2013

Decisions will be made June 2013

Instructions for Submission

1.     Application Form

2.     CV and List of Publications - the list should separate between papers that were published in peer reviewed journals and papers that were published in scientific conferences. Journal names should be accompanied by journal ranking information. Similarly, acceptance rate must be included for the scientific conferences

3.     The candidate will enclose up to two pdf files that represent his major findings and achievements from the PhD studies.

4.     Formal approval of PhD degree or formal approval that the PhD thesis was submitted in the last year.

5.     Three reference letters, one of the letters should be from the PhD mentor

6.     A proposal for the planned research approved by the host, up to two pages

7.     A summary form from the faculty that grades the applicants and explains the grading.

Kreitman School for Advanced Graduate Studies

Hereby announces the enrollment for

Kreitman Post-Doctoral Scholarships in Humanities for the academic year 2013-2014

  • The program is open for candidates that have completed their PhD studies within the past five years in humanities and are interested in performing research at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

  • Candidates must first find a host advisor

  • The scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis 

  • The scholarship will provide an annual sum of 74,044 NIS that will be covered by the Kreitman School

  • The scholarship may be extended for a second year, pending submission of an advancement report approved by the advisor to the Kreitman School. Extension for the second year requires approval of the mentor, the faculty and the Kreitman School. 

  • Applications will be received from candidates that have completed their PhD studies within the past five years, or from candidates that are currently in their final year of their PhD studies. In such cases, the scholarship will be activated pending submission of their PhD thesis and completion of all other academic requirements towards receiving the PhD degree

Negev Scholarships for the 2013/14 Academic Year
Faran and Zin Scholarships


The Program goals:
- To encourage outstanding undergraduate students to join a doctorate at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, while developing academic excellence.
- To grant outstanding students the opportunity to devote all their time to their studies.


Approximately 40 scholarships are awarded annually, each for the period of 4 years. Candidates are suggested by the Faculty and they are chosen by the University Committee for Research Students.
 
a) The Negev-Faran Scholarship is for 5,544 NIS per month (in 12 units (462 NIS per unit), updated for 2012/13) for the duration of 4 years. Six of these units are from the Kreitman School, four from the BGU Faculty and two from the Advisor.
b) The Negev-Zin Scholarship is for 4,620 NIS per month (in 10 units (462 NIS per unit), updated for 2012/13) for the duration of 4 years. Five of these units are from the Kreitman School, three from the BGU Faculty and two from the Advisor.

Darom Scholarships for the "Direct Track" - Submission May 12, 2013

Besor and Lakhish Scholarships

The Program goals:
- To encourage outstanding undergraduate students to join the "Direct Track" to a doctorate at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, while developing academic excellence.
- To grant outstanding students the opportunity to devote all their time to their studies.

Approximately 20 scholarships are awarded annually, each for the period of 5 years. Candidates are suggested by the Faculty and they are chosen by the University Committee for Research Students.
 
a) The Besor Scholarship is for 5,544 NIS per month for the duration of 5 years – 6 units (462 NIS per unit) from the Kreitman School, ca. 4 units from the BGU Faculty and the 2 units from the Advisor.
 
b) The Lakhish Scholarship is for 4,620 NIS per month for the duration of 5 years - 5 units (462 NIS per unit) from the Kreitman School, 3 units from the BGU Faculty and the 2 units from the Advisor.
