The VENµS space
system for observing the Earth environment was launched on Aug. 1, 2017, and since Oct. 2017
transmits high quality and unique images of 110 research sites all over the
globe. Israel is covered by 27 tiles of
27X27 km each. The first international
VENμS end-users conference was held at Sede Boker Campus of Ben Gurion
University on Nov. 21, 2018, and was
followed by three atmospheric correction workshops on Nov. 22, 2018. French and Israeli scientists presented the
state-of-the-art products of the VENµS.
The meeting was in honor of Dr. Jean-Yves Le Gall, President of CNES and
French Scientists Delegation and was supported by the “Saison France-Israel
2018” initiative. During the conference,
the participants visited the VENµS Scientific Center at Sede Boker Campus. This center is devoted to receiving, process, store, and distribute the
VENµS images and products among the Israeli end-users.
