The research team of Prof. Mayer Aladjem, including students Tomer Lancewicki (PhD) and Shir Meir (MSc) of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev were recently recognized for their outstanding contribution to the success of the Metro450 Consortium, part of the Magnet program of the Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of the Economy.  

The MAGNET Program is one of the ways the Chief Scientist promotes Israeli industry and builds and strengthens its technological infrastructures. During the Consortium’s annual conference at the Neaman Institute at the Technion, the 2013 Best Research Award was awarded to Lancewicki and a certificate of recognition to Aladjem. 

The Metro450 Scientific Committee recognized their work as a model of consistent excellence, innovation, quality and results collaboration for their work on “Advanced Methods for Dimensional Reduction and Classification of Multivariate Observations for Improved Defect Sampling Under Low Sample/High Feature Scenarios.” 

The Metro450 consortium is sponsored by the MAGNET program, part of the Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of the Economy. The industrial members include: Intel, Applied Materials, Jordan Valley, Nanomotion and Nova Measuring Instruments Ltd. The academic members include: Technion, Ben-Gurion University, Tel-Aviv University and Haifa University.
