Prof. Ehud Gudes of the Department of Computer Science is the 2015 laureate of IFIPTM’s William Winsborough Commemorative Address and Award. An internationally renowned database security researcher, Gudes was one of the founders of the Department of Computer Science 15 years ago.

The objective of the award is to publicly recognize an individual, not a group or organization, who has significantly contributed to the development of computational trust and/or trust management, especially achievements with an international perspective.

IFIPTM, a part of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) organization, is the main international research group which publishes research in the areas of Computational Trust and Reputation as it relates to Security. IFIPTM holds an annual conference and has recently established an academic journal on Trust under Springer.

Gudes will give the Address and receive the Award at their upcoming conference in Germany. The research of Gudes and his post-doc Dr. Nurit Gal-Oz focuses on various aspects of reputation and new models for assessing reputation. The model has been implemented to locate suspicious domains on the internet.
