Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and Logicom Public Limited​ of Cyprus signed an agreement late last week that will bring 10 Cypriots to study for their Masters degrees at BGU a year for five years. Logicom Public Limited (Logicom), based in Cyprus, is a tech company active in IT products distribution and solutions integration with operations in 16 countries in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

As part of the agreement, Logicom will sponsor ten MSc. candidates a year at BGU in their efforts to earn a Master's degree in the fields of either Machine Learning and Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Software Systems, Cyber Security, and Information Systems/Data Science and Business Analytics. In return, students receiving this scholarship are then required to spend two years working at Logicom, if the company so requires.

Mr. Adamos Adamides, past Chairman of Logicom and the University's Rector Prof. Zvi HaCohen signed the agreement on behalf of their respective parties. The agreement was concluded following deliberations between Logicom's Director of Global Services and Cloud Georgios Georgiou and Prof. Avi Levy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and his team, and Dr. Stavi Baram, Director of the Office of International Academic Affairs at BGU.
