This is a University with a conscience, where high standards of research are integrated with community involvement.

The Community Action Department and programs such as Perach bring BGU into the Heart of disadvantaged neighborhoods while outreach programs make higher education to all the residents of the region.

There are now over 500 Bedouin students - over half women - at BGU thanks to outreach and retention programs spearheaded by the Center for Bedouin Studies and Development.

Students are voting with their feet - and applying to BGU in droves. The number 1 choice of prospective Israeli undergraduate students, BGU has more than tripled in size to over 19,000 students over the past decade.

There are worlds within worlds at BGU. Multicultural, international and cosmopolitan, students engage in over 30 extracurricular clubs. Campus life includes two movie houses, a state-of-the-art sports center, pubs, resturants, 24-hr computer libraries, connoisseur espresso bars and home-like dorms.
