The three topics that lie at the heart of my research interests are: 1) conservation-oriented studies of threatened/endangered species (especially charismatic mammals/apex carnivores that can serve as umbrella species); 2) behavioural ecology aiming at understanding drivers affecting species’ distribution and movements across space, sociality, and the underlying evolutionary processes leading to sociality; and 3) the use of theoretic information modelling techniques (and Bayesian-based parallels) to assess important parameters of, and drivers affecting on, wildlife populations for conservation purposes and for better management of human-wildlife conflicts. More generally, I find the investigation of anthropogenic-induced effects on wildlife and ecosystems to be an increasingly more important and relevant subject.
