Intensive Spoken Arabic Ulpan
Program Dates for 2014-2015: August 3, 2014 – August 28, 2014
The Arabic Ulpan is an intensive colloquial Arabic language course that is offered for a four-week period during the summer months. The course focuses on teaching the spoken Palestinian dialect. Taken primarily from an urban setting, this dialect is understood throughout the Arab world. Classroom instruction will be accompanied by several excursions to Arab-speaking communities throughout Israel.
The course meets for five hours daily, Sunday through Thursday, for a total of 100 hours of instruction. The course is aimed at beginners with little to no prior knowledge of Arabic. By the end of the course, students can expect to be able to converse in the Palestinian dialect of Arabic at a basic level.

Summer and winter ulpans are available and open to all. Registration in academic programs is not necessary.
