BGU Students: How to Apply to an Exchange Program?

Who can Apply?

  1. Fill in the application form.
  2. Take part in a meeting with the Exchange Coordinator (Email:
  3. Prepare a study plan for the your semester abroad: find courses that match your degree at BGU or other courses which your department will approve.
  4. Prepare the Learning Agreement document.
  5. Receive approval for your study plan (by having your Learning Agreements signed) by the Head of your Department’s Academic Committee.
​(Students belonging to the Faculty of Engineering must also get approval from the Head of the Faculty’s Academic Committee).​

Upload the following documents to the form that has been sent to you by the Exchange Coordinator (All these documents MUST be in ENGLISH):

  1. Learning Agreement (for B.A./B.Sc. and M.A./M.Sc. students)
  2. Internal Form (for Ph.D. students)
  3. Updated Transcript of Records in English.
  4. Approval of level of English.
  5. Motivation Letter that explains why you would like to study at your chosen university abroad and tell about yourself.
  6. CV/Resume in English.
  7. Copy of Passport
  8. Passport-sized photo.
In certain countries TOEFL or IELTS are required. TOEFL is valid for two years.

Application process for Graduate Students (Research Students):
  • MA Students with thesis, and doctoral students, have to consult with their supervisors prior to applying for the Exchange Program in order to prepare study/research plan.
  • Research students are required to have an academic contact at the university they are applying to, who is willing to supervise them at the host university for the period of the exchange.
  • Students must submit a study/research plan on the Internal Form that is approved by both supervisors (the primary supervisor at BGU and the supervisor at host university).

Selection process:
The selection process for the Exchange Program will begin after the final deadline for submission of the full Application package and will take approximately one month to complete. Decisions will be sent to all applicants.

Once students are selected for participation in the Exchange Program they will be required to complete the formal application process as required by the host university abroad.
